Here’s something that regularly annoys me, and what’s the point of having a blog if you can’t rant about annoyances?
I was watching a live music show on TV late last night and as is nearly always the case, whenever the focus was on a guitar player, the director filmed a close up of the « right hand », the one that strums or picks the strings.
It is the « left hand », the one that pinches the notes on the neck of the guitar, that should be the focus of such close-ups! How am I supposed to know what notes or chords the guitarist is playing by watching the « strumming/picking/right » hand?!
OK, so maybe not everybody is learning how to play the guitar, but if you think this is no big deal, then I guess you wouldn’t mind it if such shows filmed pianists’ feet, working those 3 pedals on the piano, while ignoring those fussy fingers on the keyboard…
Sigh…
(Dig that pianist man!)
