I have bad blocks that keep appearing on the internal hard disk of my iMac G5, crippling the system. Before Apple will replace the drive, they want me to do a low-level format to see if it fixes things. I suppose it is a reasonable request. So I’m running off of a bare-bones system on an external hard disk. Am going to get a third external hard disk today in an attempt to salvage what I can from the internal HD (that still mounts). I’ll then have to reformat, and reinstall the tons and tons of applications that I have amassed over time.
So, that, and a heavy workload, explains the slow going on sknoblog.
Apologies to my readers 🙂
