Charts

Publié le Catégorisé dans Making Music, Surfin'

I apologize in advance for this self-congratulatory post.

As you know by now, I’ve posted my songs on many sites, some of which offer statistics on the number of plays and/or downloads.

  • On Dogmazic, a French free-music portal where I posted a few French songs, I reached a couple of symbolic milestones this week: over 10,000 listens and 3000 downloads! This feels like a lot to me. But what pleases me more, is the high download-to-listen ratio of 1/3rd.
  • On SoundClick, I’m up to 7,783 views, but downloads top out at a modest 488. This is probably why.
  • I have stuff up on Last.fm (281 views) and even (gasp!) MySpace (423 views) and on Opsound (no stats).
  • Finally, I have no idea what the stats are for Remote Possibility.

So it all adds up to 20,000-ish listens/views/downloads/whatever. Not too shabby.

Of course, on the downside, I’m still not as famous as any of the rappers and R&B acts that top the american charts, but then again, I’ve never heard of most of them either, so that makes us even.
